Our Story…
Step into the heartwarming world of TiviCakes, a delectable journey that not only tantalizes your taste buds but also touches your soul. Founded by Carlene Geen-Paul, daughter of Jamaican immigrants, TiviCakes is more than just a bakery—it's a celebration of love, family, and a legacy that transcends generations.
Carlene's inspiration for TiviCakes is deeply rooted in the cherished memories of her late mother, Mabel Stewart-Green, affectionately known as Mama. Mama's legendary fruit cake, the star of the menu at their family-owned "Ms. Mabel Shop" in Salt Spring, Montego-Bay, Jamaica, was more than a dessert—it was a symbol of community, connection, and the joy that comes from sharing a slice of life.
Picture Mama fanning the flames of a coal stove, skillfully crafting her renowned Jamaican Fruit Cake. The sweet aroma wafting through the air, enticing everyone in the neighborhood to indulge in the magic of Ms. Mabel's creations. It wasn't just about the cake; it was about the memories created around it—the laughter, the stories, and the sense of belonging that filled the air.
As you savor each bite of TiviCakes, you're not just experiencing a culinary delight; you're becoming part of a rich tapestry of tradition, love, and community. Carlene Green-Paul invites you to share in the joy that inspired TiviCakes, where every purchase extends a hand of support to children in need, echoing the spirit of Vivienne Campbell (mother-in-law) and the legacy of Mama's kitchen in Salt Spring.
In honor of her late mother-in-law, Vivienne Campbell, a foster parent with a heart of gold who dedicated over two decades to Bridges Homeward's children and foster care program, TiviCakes has pledged to contribute ten percent of all sales. Vivienne's passion for nurturing young lives lives on, creating a ripple effect of kindness and support for those who need it most.
As we embark on this journey with TiviCakes, we’re reminded of the beautiful legacy left by our mothers, Mabel and Vivienne. Their love for baking and nurturing others inspired us to start this venture. We’ve decided to honor their memory by not only creating delicious treats but also by giving back to foster care, a cause dear to Vivienne’s heart. Through TiviCakes, a contribution of 10% of net profit goes to Bridges Homeward foster care as we hope to continue spreading love and support, just as our mothers did.
